Welcome
The Santa Clara River Valley, affectionately known around here as the Heritage Valley, offers some of the most spectacular scenery and beauty in the world. Boasting one of North America's unusual east - west running mountain ranges, this valley has been shaped over geologic time by massive plates slamming into each other, creating both the San Andreas Fault to the east and this verdant east - west running river valley to the west. In the 1880's several pioneering entrepreneurs ventured into this valley in search of fortune and at first discovered oil (Santa Paula is where the Union Oil Company was founded) and then uncovered some of the world's most fertile agricultural land, water and a technically perfect climate. Over time this land has produced apricots, lima beans, sugar beets, oranges, lemons, avocados, row crop vegetables and strawberries. The sub-tropical Mediterranean climate in this valley is ideally suited for agricultural production, and in 1893 the Limoneira Company was founded to develop the first large scale citrus-growing company in the United States, exploiting the many attributes of this valley.

Today the Limoneira Company, a family owned enterprise in its fifth generation of operation, owns and operates over 7,000 acres of some of the most beautiful agricultural property in the world. Its assets include period style buildings, houses, barns, landscapes, roads and vistas that tell the stories of over 114 years of operations and generations of activities. Film producers find the lighting opportunities here abundant and unique and our track record includes feature films, commercials, television, documentaries and print.

For over 100 years the discreet operating style of Limoneira's ownership kept the doors to our properties closed and quietly guarded. Today, Limoneira's ownership and I couldn't be more proud to invite you to visit our company, listen to our stories, walk in our orchards, take in our vistas and enjoy our tranquility. Our proximity to Ventura's beaches and ocean (ten minutes away by car) and to Los Angeles (45 minutes "over the hill") make our logistics convenient and easy. We are also proud to represent the many assets of the City of Santa Paula for film production as well. Together the City of Santa Paula and the properties of Limoneira provide film producers with a powerful combination of assets providing limitless opportunities to create unique and original content.

Thank you for considering Limoneira Orchards for your production. I look forward to meeting you and providing a positive memorable experience for you and your team.

Sincerely,

Harold S. Edwards

President & CEO
